The Common Rooms opened in the Summer of 2018 by Alex Macnutt and Chris Gane and has been the coolest bar in Tunbridge Wells ever since.
Floor to ceiling windows overlooking a gorgeous view of Tunbridge Wells Common, you can see why it was given the name “the Common Rooms”.
Within one year of being open the bar accumulated the award for the best bar in Kent. This is perhaps because of its unique set up where on weekends, DJ’s mix on vinyl, to a funk and soul soundtrack. The bar centres itself around great quality music, drinks and service, making it the perfect vibe to sip on cocktails with your friends. The bar regularly releases themed DJ mixes to mix-cloud where you can listen to the Common Rooms soundtrack from home.
Glittered with fairy lights and disco balls, the Common Rooms feels like the perfect place for a party. The bar has a great array of cocktails, regularly switching up the menu and offering special deals. For example, on Halloween, the bar released a cocktail called “the zombie”. The cocktail was a beautiful orange hue, consisting of rum, apricot brandy, grenadine and lime.
The Common Rooms is renowned for having an outgoing and lovely set of staff who all seem to genuinely love working there, making a customers drinking experience all the more special.
Over lockdown, the owner and one of his bar staff created a great cocktail series name “stir crazy” where they showed you cocktail recipes to make in lockdown that simply need to be stirred together.
The Common Rooms cocktails are so popular they’ve kept up a takeaway cocktail service over lockdown for any of its customers missing their favourite bramble or negroni cocktails.
